Friend and his other half bought bikes recently. They went for a ride today and when they got back they washed the bikes. When she went for a quick spin to dry everything out, this happened...

Little unexpected. Bike is only 4-5 rides old and having ridden with them, it's not from abuse.

Incidentally it's a Mongoose HT

My cuz had a mongoose comp tyax a few years ago, the fork just snapped in about the same place.

What has the brand of frame got to do with the fork breaking?
Try warranty, should be covered...

They're going to the shop with it tomorrow. Wasn't asking for advice, was more a "WTF" sort of thing.
