After crashing my Butcher and trashing my Sektors, I thought maybe I should get a decent fork!

Have I made a good choice for my riding, mainly the Dark Peak and the odd trail centre!

I have heard some people changing the Oil straight away...they are coming from Mojo so surely they must check them before they leave!

Anyway no more expensive seals (unlike rockshox)

Hope I have made a good choice!

In my opinion fox are way above rockshox in terms of quality never achieved full travel in any rockshox I've owned but I think 36's are ott for trail centres.

My '11 Van is awesome, much better than the 36 float I had before it.

So where in the UK are 36s justified?

I say 90% of my riding is the Dark Peak, 10% trail centres

OTT for trail centre's?! Right you are.

I got full travel from every fork i've owned as i know how to set them up!! Clearly you don't.

SBrock: Nice forks, enjoy 😀 I run U-Turn Lyriks and have found them superb but would have chosen the Fox's if their trade prices weren't so horrific 😉

Ive got tapered kashima 36 VAN's on my butcher,

I can get full travel out of mine riding to the shop with my 6 year old !

I can also get them squashed together from dalby to dalbetie, Laggan and everywhere over the Peaks, they are super stiff and inspire massive confidence, If anything i feel they are let down by the back end / rear swing arm !
You will see what i mean when you get them fitted !

I've just had my crowns changed under warranty, where the stanchion fits into the crown it was loose and had cumbled some of the material it was suposed to be sticking into.

Trouble is my stanchions dont look Gold and i,m wondering if they are Kashimad at all ?

I could post pics but i havent got a clue how to...........

How often do they need to be serviced to keep the waranty?

UNLUCKY !
Like changing oil ,looking at your stanchions & worrying more than riding i guess so.... 😉

Just got off pink bike a pair of 2007 RCx2 Special WC cartridge installed of a pair of 888 forks lad who sold me them had them old new stock then tweaked them with the Cartridge ...
WOW had FOX,Rock Shox And older Marzocchi forks 08+
These are super plush and so smooth i am amazed at the build quality but these were made in Italty for sure.

Bets £175 i spent to date. 😆

I had similar concerns about oil levels and phoned Mojo. They said they have never heard of the low oil problem on new forks which I don't quite believe as it's all over the internet and in MBUK reviews etc.

In fairness they said if I have any concerns I should learn to check it myself as it is something that will need to be done every 20 or 30 hours of use (think the timing is probably a little over the top but hey). So long as they are happy for the user to take apart the forks without affecting the warranty then I'm happy too 😀 There is a video on their website showing how to replace the oil.

Great forks, the stantion wear should be better now they are Kashima.

fortunately my old Rockshox havent come to a sticky end like yours so I dont have the difficult choice to make.

Personally, i'd stay awa from Fox forks until they sort out the stantion wear and bushing slop issues that ALL the forks come with. (I'm currently running 36Vans)

Rockshox forks just feel... Better.

I'm running Argyle 409's on my 4X, few minor issues, but they work perfectly and are hassle free, cant fault them 🙂
