Bought myself an e-bike. Wow, what great fun. Normal bike on the downs, as much or little effort as you want on everything else - actually came out of the top of climbs grinning like a cheshire cat. Still had a decent workout and worked up a sweat, just went further and wasn't completely sh***ed at the end

E bkle haters are going to hate, but it seems to be the future, I even know super fit people getting them as they can still go further & spend more time on the bike.

Enjoy.

Is that a kenevo?

I borrowed my mates this week. Awesome fun but I don’t think it’s for me. Like to try a levo

2unfit - yep, the blinkered haters can't see beyond the cheating tag, but they are so much more than that.

jam - yeah, it is. It's a heavy unwieldy tank for sure, but doesn't really feel that much different to my carbon Capra when you get into the flow. The Levo would be a better option for a lot of people, but I like a steamroller for the downs 😉

A bit of a hijack, but whilst we're talking...

if you want/need an E Bike do you need full suss? From my own experience I haven't done anything recently on a FS that I couldn't do on a HT, yes I'm a bit old school & I got into MTB before the implementation of FS but I have also in the past enjoyed the benefits of the traction & comfort of a FS.

Myself I think my gnar days are over, I just want an easy life & to get out, EMTB seems the natural way forward.

Cheers.

Once it was up to speed it was a monster, but in tight twisty pedally singletrack it was a bit of a pig, and the power modulation was a bit crude. Started to get to grips with it but maybe in a couple of years the tech will be better.

I reckon the eco-mode (30%) was just about enough to make up for the weight and the tyres.

i wanted to see if I could ride off road to work on one (29 miles, 4000ft of climbing), I ran the battery out after 22m &3000ft. I reckon I could eek it out with less battery use but that misses the point to me.

Ps. Don’t run the battery flat. Really dont. I wasn’t far from the car and it sucked....

2unfit - I've not tried one, but I get the impression that ebikes are more suited to FS, but I'm sure a HT would still be fun

jam - you are probably right. I've only had one ride and got on with it fine, but I'm using the BLEvo app - you can alter lots of setting and more importantly, get rid of the ridiculous 15mph limit. Now, before everyone starts frothing at the mouth, I wouldn't say this presents any more danger (personal experience so far) - I've set mine to 25mph, just to assist to the speed (or maybe just slightly higher) I'd normally pedal at

Yep, 25-30% is about right for eco. I ran mine down after 18 miles last night, but I was taking liberties on the climbs with turbo. And yes, it's horrible to pedal when flat

Be careful with that, the guy I borrowed one off hadn’t done it because he thought it would void the warranty.

But the 16mph limit sucks, as the power comes straight off, ok riding DH but on the road or the flat you end up bouncing around 16mph

As far as I've read, you just reset it with the Spesh app and it's fine - read reports of warranties on the motors after running diagnostics with no issues.

Bikebouy, almost looks like a normal bike eh? 😉

Until you try and lift it over a gate...

Hope you've got it insured and registered as a moped to ride it on the road then 😉 because, you know, the law and everything.

I ran the battery out after 22m &3000ft.

That doesn't seem right.

I did 23 miles and just under 1300 meters of climbing on my Kenevo and still had 3 bars left on the battery.

Oh and as is the tradition.

Sort those weeds out OP.
