I've got a few.

Wrath of The Titans.
I don't like to go into Redlands Woods in Surrey on my own......just in case I awaken the Cylopses that live there:
Wrath of the Titans

Full Metal Jacket.
I often smile whilst riding along the Mead Wall,Cliffe Marshes in Kent aka Vietnam:
Vietnam

and more recently the final scenes of the Black Mirror Smithereens episode were shot on a local bridleway in Gravesend-the area/woods attached were closed off for a few weeks:

The Narnia Track, where funnily enough, the a lot of the Narnia film/s were shot in Canterbury. (Flock Hill Station, I think)

It was mostly 4wd track on heavy cart and a road climb back. I was dragging my Magic Marys round ready for a day's gnar on the following day so was not a happy bunny.

Well, there's a little-known location where I rode around the 2009 Harry Potter green screen sets.

Swinley, obviously 😉

It'll probably turn out they shot Bond in the woods behind Nationwide.

Local trails.

null

Amusingly, was once sitting atop the Down on a hot summer's day, getting my breath back and soaking in the view, when a lovely American couple approached me, and in the most charmingly earnest voice, asked, "Excuse me, sir, is this where they filmed Watership Down?"

“Excuse me, sir, is this where they filmed Watership Down?”

Took me a while to twig this one. Too many mince pies.

The only thing I've ridden around here involves Calendar Girls, which sounds a bit wrong.

Lots around my area on the military areas but a few to mention:

Bourne Woods south of Farnham - Gladiator, various others

Military areas at Hawley - a few Bonds but most notably the sandpits were I think the NK/SK no mans land in Die Another Day

Skyfall Lodge is actually in Hankley Common, near Hindhead (plus a bit of CGI)

They shot the recent Netflix series 'Cursed' at Deepcut, with a huge wooden set. It wasn't the only wooden thing about it.

Minley Manor at Farnborough again, where Gorrick have the Torq 12:12; theres a big Chateau tucked away in the trees (some riders won't even know it's there despite it being massive) which is a set from one of my favourite (guilty pleasure) films, Stardust.

The Full Monty; pretty much all the locations in the film are within a couple of miles from my front door. None of them are particularly pleasing on the eye though.

A few films have used some of the old quarries I ride thorough in the Beacons, don't know the names of them though.

Did have one memorable moment where I dropped in over a small lip at the back of Trefil Quarry to be confronted with a dozen medieval soldiers and a trebuchet with fake flaming oiled projectile! They had to stop and reset their take for that one.

Have bumped into Emma Watson out on the hills above Sennybridge, filming some indy film. I didn't look my best as it was a wet, muddy ride.

Outlander the movie?

I'd no idea there was a movie, the accents in the first episode of the TV series were quite enough!

Full Metal Jacket.
Mead Wall aka Vietnam

tick! 🙂
(on my Raleigh Grifter / Raleigh winner as a kid, at around the time they filmed it)

CATS Eyes - same location, but might have been the other side of one of the pools, ie the track out to the old blue circle sailing club pool.

just trying to work out exactly which field that would be with the pylons. my first ever job was picking apples under the pylons, which was ace in a thunderstorm 🙂 orchards are grubbed out and is arable now afaik.

Narnia

tick! 🙂

Revolution - partly filmed around Burrator. Not a well known film despite Al Pacino being in it. It was so shite he didn’t make another for 4 years.

Which are the old cruise missile bunkers on Greenham Common. They've also been used in the next Fast and the Furious film - Vin Diesel's trailer was at Newbury Rugby Club.

it's Midsomer Murder country around here. They're often filming when I'm out. And Mapledurham is the Eagle has Landed's village/church etc.

Turville is Dibley, and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang village

Kelling Heath is Norfolk was in that rubbish Bond film with a North Korean diamond dealer. Nice cycling through the woods

Holkham is Shakespeare in Love, and the Eagle has Landed.

I've got this!
All the scenes from BMX Bandits - namely Manly coastal path and the waterslides (closed when we were there).

Loved the film as a BMX mad youngster so when my brother emigrated to Sydney the first thing we did when visiting was to re-enact the film with my brother and MrsRNP.

Another Redlands rider...hadn't realised Wrath Of Titans was filmed there. Last one I heard of was season 2 of The Witcher. Again it looks like they used the same dead tree!

Any Surrey folk know about the film set & old wooden hut/house built in Summer 2019 in the woods at Dick Focks Common/Effingham Forest?

Also rode through the wooden hut village built for season 2 of Ghosts. Next to the manor itself opposite Sheepleas. Sets dont look as impressive depending on angle...

The rebel base in episodes 7 & 8, well ok the woods around the bunkers at Greenham common.

Was quite cool riding the trails knowing there was a X-wing and half the Millennium Falcon just behind the bunkers.
