Want to run hope floating rotors with avid juicy 5 brakes 183/185 front and 160 rear. Can't see why it wouldn't work. Just want to check that the rotor bobbins clear the caliper and pad tabs.

Cheers.

i have juicy 5s and i just went to 203, it makes everything easier and there is more choice.

i'm using superstar discs and adapters which have been great.

The rivets of the floating rotor can/do catch on the caliper of the Avid brake.
I fixed this on one set with an angle grinder ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

If you have unequal pistons sometimes it does not catch

It is not a perfect solution IME and I changed rotors to avoid this issue

You can off course get adapters etc to fit the rotors without issue but the real issue will be whether the floating rotor rivet bolts foul the caliper and they probably will.
I would avoid that mix if possible [ I have nothing against avid brakes and still run a set]

Juicy's actually use 185mm, if you use a 180mm disc you get a lip forming on the pads, there is chance the same will happen with 183mm. Only avid make 185mm dics (that i found) which are expensive.

If you switch to 203mm then there are plently of options as everybody uses 203mm, there is no 200 or 205 etc.

make sense greeble?

yes but again I call b/s you need to look around a bit more.
there is a 205mm rotor and 200mm

forget you're happy with your setup

sheesh, ok greeble.

My only point is there are far more options if you move away from 185mm which is mostly only Avid.

Cheers folks, I guess I'll stick with standard rotors.
