I can open the sram power link on my mtb no problem.

but on my rd & cx bike they just wont budge. I've degreased/lubed, held a towel in my hands for extra grip.

anyone any ideas?

Is it a SRAM chain? They're a bit of a **** iirc. KMC ones are much better.

If the road and cx bike are 10-speed then they are PowerLOCKS and are not designed to be re-used.

KMC 10spd chain connectors are reusable...

I've been using a 9-speed Powerlink on my 10-speed CX/Tourer for months and it has been fine. Or - as suggested - get a KMC or a Clarks 10-speed one.

Not sure that KMC link above is to the correct kmc. You need the KMC Missing Link.

Having said that I have the KMC missing link on mtb Shimano 10 spd chain and they are a complete bitch to get open.

I put mine in a pair of grips, diagonaly so that as you squeeze it, it's forced open

email me if you need a pic

The part number stamped on the image on CRC (CL559R) matches the number stamped on the KMC website missing links picture page..

But that might still mean it's the wrong thing ๐Ÿ™‚
