Hi, looking for a bit of advice. My rear Juicy 7 is giving me problems. There is no stopping power at all. Even when I squeeze the levers really hard I get less stopping power than a V-brake. The pistons definitely appear to be moving the pads and the lever isn't pulling right to the bar. I've tried cleaning the rotor with disc cleaner and replaced the pads but it's made no difference at all.
Get it bled, though you could try the simple option of zip-tying the lever back to the bars over night. This 'may' force any air trapped in the system back to the top reservoir, at worst try this then get it bled afterwards.
1. Get the pads really really hot for several minutes to bed them in.
2. You can over clean the discs - need to bedded in with the pads.
3. Bleed brakes ๐
I don't think that air in system is the problem as they don't feel 'spongy'. Was wondering if there was some other possible cause. Going for a ride tomorrow so that should allow pads to bed in, although again I'm not convinced that is the problem
Yep
You need to do some severe stops. As you do you should feel the braking power increase.
Last time I did it I was peddaling down hill with the rear brake fully on 4 or 5 times until it was fixed.
Noise is my current problem.
Yeah bed the pads in would be my say, for the noise imp999 they say that some copper grease on the back of the pads stops the vibrations therefore eliminating the squeal. Just make sure u dont get any on the braking surface itself.
