Anyone know if the white eye, does exactly what the joystick does?
i.e. if you have it on high power, the white eye will be on high power, if you have the joystick set to flash, will the white eye flash?
Nope, WE is always on Full. So your battery life will be reduced quite a lot.
EDIT: Also, its a bit of a faff to turn it on. Every time you want the white-eye on you have to 'activate' the smart port, which takes lots of holding buttons and turning on/off. Im quite dissapointed with mine because of that (oh, and the fact its falling apart and needs sent back).
White Eye?
not the best 'upgrade' really, for the reasons mentioned above.
Dont get me wrong, its nice and bright (infact mine is brighter than my Joystick, annoyingly) but its such a faff to use i dont bother much anymore, unless i know im going to be doing a long downhill run. Ive actually started using it alongside my MaxxD, adds a bit of distance Punch and allows me to angle the main light down a little, barely affects battery life on that one too.
can you still have the joystick on flash and the white eye on full power? I wouldnt want to sacrifice the flash function for my commute.
I think you can, dont have it with me at work but ill try it out tonight and let you know.
I would suggest you dont bother tho, the 240L from the white eye will just outshine the flash, plus your runtime will only be a max of 3hrs, might as well just run the joystick on full and save yourself £30. TBH i just leave my joystick on Low or Medium for commuting, gets you noticed just as well as the flash and is still usefull as a torch, plus the runtime is still 10-24hr.
I've got the red eye off my diablo :O) Uber commuter setup.
You should be able to have the flash mode on as well as the WE at full blast. The WE only works at full output no matter what the main light is doing. Same as the RE.
Same as the redeye. Nice idea but poorly executed - a faff to turn on and off and poorly made. I stopped using mine after a week.
