I need some new jockey wheels. Trouble is I want some that are better than stock but not £40 uber wheels.
What else is out there?
They'll be going on an older style lx mech, hence not wanting to spend mega dollar.
What issues are you having with stock ones?
My kcnc ones have lasted 18 months and show little sign of wear. That's three times longer than the stock tension pulley lasts (bottom wheel) in my book that's cheap. No noticeable increasing chain wear either.
If they ever wear out I'd be interested in anything cheaper?
nickjb - the bearing part has worn causing them to go from side to side. Not a problem on the tension pully but the guide pully caused the chain to slip off the inside of the big ring at the back. Some swearing and yanking to get the chain back out and I was away again with little adjustment to stop it happening again. But now its a pain to get into big cog. If the wheel was held in its line then it'd be fine.
stuuey - the kcnc ones look nice. About the max I'd want to spend though. Is there anywhere doing them for a good price at the mo?
tacx, they're about £15 and you CANNOT go wrong with them. They'll take the shit you throw at them.
No idea on best kcnc deals. Google is your friend! Apparently Bing is good for product searches but it never works for me.
KCNC rule, worth their money, plus you can have a spangly colour
