[#1413085]

After going through two sets of jockey wheels in about 10 months I am looking for some that may last a bit longer
I ride in the peaks so i know they wont last for ever
The first set were the ones that came on my xt mech and the last set were Tacx ones

Any Ideas ???

Cheers

Andy

Worn out 2 sets in 10 months!?!?

What are you doing? Anyway just buy some LX ones.

The wet/grit in the Peaks has been eating my bike since I got it in April last year

Are you changing your chain often enough? Might be worth checking if you're getting through jockey wheels that quickly

the whole drive train is what came on the bike apart for the second set of jockey wheels

When I fit the new chain, chainrings, cassette and jockey wheels I will pay a bit more attention of when its time to change the chain

I just did not expect modern bike parts to fall to bits so quick...the parts on my old bike (early 90's) would just last for ever and thats riding the very same trails in the peaks..

It'll most likely be your chain that's wearing them out so quickly, as they stretch they wear everything out more quickly as the pitch of the chain no longer matches the teeth on rings, cassette & jockey wheels.
They won't last as long as 90's stuff as you have more gears now-chain is more narrow, so stretch faster.
