@postierich looks like I can't make it. Don't need a refund of the Eventbrite payment, would prefer it to go to charity. What do I need to do?
Sorry to hear Andy ask for a refund on the Eventbrite page please makes it easier for me at registration and frees up a space.
Sure. I'll sort that out. Cheers.
Air bnb booked for start and finish!
Woohoo
Does anyone know if the Jennride will still be taking place this year?
Had an email from Rich to say it has been cancelled and entries can be carried over to next year.
Not surprising it has been cancelled and a bit of a let off because my mileage has taken a dive since lockdown.
See you all next year!
Only just seen the email, went in my junk by mistake.
Not surprising, with the pubs probably still shut, how would we all get around the route? 🙂
Thanks to Rich for organising, see you next year!
A Message from Richard Munro:Coronavirus Update – Event Postponed
In light of the fast-moving and ongoing Coronavirus pandemic I have made the very difficult/easy decision to postpone the 2020 South Lakes Jennride. While my efforts have been focused on holding the event, we must prioritise the health and wellbeing of participants and their families plus the local population. With government limitations on gatherings in place to protect our emergency services it was felt the only responsible decision was to postpone the event until next year.

Any entries already booked and paid for the full event will automatically be carried over to the 2021 event ,if any one requires a refund up untill next years date please use the evenbrite refund option please use this as it keeps administration low for me.
Thanks for everyone's understanding at this challenging time. Please keep smiling, keep riding and most importantly keep safe.
St Gemmas Hospice survives on donations so if you are able to donate please do so on the Just Giving Page. Rich

Oh dear wish I hadn’t given up my place due to recent health problems, as I’m making good progress it would have been a good goal to aim for next year, as I’m assuming with carrying entries over to 2021 there’ll be no places available.
Hi Rich, sorry to hear you have postponed, but of course completely understand. I have really enjoyed taking part in the last 4 events, the atmosphere has been great, the scenery stunning, the routes challenging.
The fells will still be there when all this chaos calms down, hope to see you out then and maybe have a beer!

So, fitness prep for the ride was simple, commute to work twice a week plus decent Sunday ride takes me to 150 miles a week, drop some weight increase stamina. Then do the commute off road on the FS a couple of times, to get the comfort of the bike dialled and increase strength. So far- snapped wrist at BPW means increasing weight and reducing fitness. Nice big snap means plate so should be ready to ride with a couple of weeks to spare. Still great to have something to look forward to. Never done a big off road ride like this before and doing it at my least fit adds to the challenge I am thinking. Can’t wait.
I am getting there and trying to cram in the hours in the saddle. I managed a 5hr ride last week and will try to cram a few more in over the next few weeks. I also plan to do an overnighter to test my set-up.
Really looking forward to it.
