[#1600948]

I was wandering round Tottenham Retail park after lunch and walked into Halfords.

They had a Diamondback Mojito 29'er sat there, so I had a bit of a ride on it and was just about to say 'Yeah I'll have it' when the Bikehut manager came in and said it was reserved - bugger!!

E-Bay - same bike, cheap enough for anyone.

You're just growing up.

Found them for £230 on the bay.

Growing up, eh I'm 32 thought I was 😆

Suppose it could be true though, now riding a full suss with less travel and a HT with 115mm up front, seem to like single speeding and riding my road bike too, oh well 😳

I got one of those the other week from Rutland Cycles (and upgraded bits with stuff from my parts bin)...

i bought a 29er on a bit of whim and bloody love it. I don't even know I'm riding bigger wheels now and extra momentum you can build up is brilliant.

Just one of those cheapy Diamondback Mojitos - It is modified a fair bit though (better kit from my parts bin).

Are they just standard cassette hubs with singlespeed convertors then?

Yes - thats why I went for it as I could stick gears on it (they have a full set of cable guides to).

I bought it just to try out a 29er and so far I'm liking it. The ride does get harsh when it gets rocky though (but it is a rigid forked bike!)

I've basically used just the frame, forks, headset, wheels and tyres from the original bike. And I'm selling all the other bits.

My mate much prefers his to his On One 29er ... very difficult to go wrong for the money. I had one of the first models and once I'd ditched the stupidly high SS ratio (something like 39:16) it was fine.

(awaits call of 'whats wrong with 39:16 you girl)

I blame the new govt, wheel sizes are the first of many things to go up...
