[#5995245]

Ok so I've been away from the bike for a few years now. Last time I rode singlespeeds were the new big thing, and 29ers were JUST arriving on the scene. Now I am shopping for a bike to replace the rusted mess in the cellar and everything is 27.5? What happened

I suppose the serious question is which direction is this headed? I know it may seem old school but I'm reluctant to move away from 26", so any insight/opinion is welcome

Cheers guys

29ers are super lame and 650b brings the trail alive.

Done.

Test some bikes. Buy the one you like the most. Ride it. Only pay attention to the wheel size when you need to buy spare tubes/new tyres. Done.

Every time someone starts a wheel size thread, a kitten dies.

oh dear - is this the new 'what tyres for' question?

(yes it is that long since I've been here)

Ignorance is bliss...

pay no attention to all the waffle and angst that chucking a 3rd "Standard" at us has caused, just go try a few different bikes if you can, if you find you get on better with a particular 29er, 27.5er or a 26er then buy that and then stop looking at bicycle forums again for another few years...

At least one of these will be available to buy and endorsed by MBR/MBUK or that annoying twot from the Gadget show, as The next best thing in cycling... See you then.
