Hi everyone, I am in the market for a new bike and I was wondering on your opinions of my choices so far; I am looking for a hardtail and I like the idea of a steel frame so I was looking at the Orange p7 pro and the Onone 456.
If anyone has had the opportunity of riding both and would like to tell me about there merits that would be great.
Of course my choice is open to new selections so tell me how bad my choices were and what I should really be looking at:)
Mr Rubble
I am biased towards Dialled Bikes, so going to suggest contemplating a Dialled Prince Albert as well. In Orange. Lovely.
p.s Mike if you read this, you sent those stickers yet? ๐
2nd a Prince Albert. I've been riding mine for about 8 weeks now - great frame and no-nonsense service from Dialled.
Had the same 'dilema' two months ago........opted for p7 pro over the 456 as there was one in lbs I could test ride. Once I had had a ride I was convinced it was right bike fior me and I'm still thinking that to this day! I expect those with a 456 will be saying exactly the same though, they get good reviews on here
3rd the Prince Albert - I rode one for 3 years and loved it, I'd still be riding it now if I hadn't bought the Ti version (Morning Glory)
The Orange looks great - go for it
Cheers guys, that is a pretty heavy argument to have a look at the Prince Albert.
Heavy argument = 3 posts?
You've not been on STW long have you! ๐
The P7 is a lovely bike - very playful and fun to ride. And with the slidey dropouts it's capable of going SS or accepting an alfine/rohloff, should the mood ever take you.
Wait till half twelve tonight till you make your mind up !!!!!
P7 doesn't strike me as being a proper steel bike in the traditional sense. I mean they're supposed to be fab at what they do but if you fancy a bit of 'steel' you might be looking at the wrong bike.
I'd personally be looking at Genesis Altitudes or building up a Cotic Soul... I've got an iO (a slot dropout SS Altitude) and that feels like a steel bike.
I know the P7 is steel but you know what I mean when people guff on about steel bikes...
