Well, tomorrow actually since I got my first ‘mountain bike’, I was 9. It was a Black Rock, I’m not sure whether that was the make or the model name. Can anyone remember these bikes? I’d love to see a photo of one. It was black with huge bull bars. Sadly it was stolen and replaced with a Raleigh Max a few years later.

My first bike was a hand me down chopper. 😀 Good for sharpening biking handling skills.

20 years ago I was riding a Roberts White Spider. I still have the rather rusty frame and forks.

Twenty years ago I was riding this, and thought MTB'ers were the scum of the earth.

got my first proper mountain bike in 1986, was riding BMX and thought a mountain bike would "fall to bits" but it was surprisingly fun and quite tough

that raleigh jungle makes me feel old. I remember the little lad next door had one of those. Looked cool though.

There's a few on eBay, tempted to get one for my little boy. Not sure the retro/sentimental value will mean anything to a 2 yr old...
