[#11984394]

Noticing the dark nights pulling in last night. Plus I had a clear out of some bits in my wardrobe - my winter tights were 'threadbare'.

Suggest to me some:

- winter longs at a reasonable price, ideally windproof panels but not with membrane (too sweaty) and a reasonable price. I am a svelte 6' and XL/34" waist, in case someone knows a link to a good deal....

Cool weather riding top. I tried one of the membrane jerseys and found it way too sweaty at the merest hint of an incline. I *think* I want to try a warmer jersey, possibly windproof on front but not back. Ideally not cut for a starving whippet, ideally with a couple of back pockets and nice colour without big logo that isn't black or lumi...I am a large on top....

I've become a big fan of stuff from Galibier recently.

How about these:

Winter Bibs and Top.

Not got these in my wardrobe (yet!) but they sound like they might fit the bill.

Not had summer weather yet. The ground isn't even dry yet.

The winter bibs have a membrane but I've not found them to be remotely boil in the bag, just warm like normal winter kit. Mine are only just long enough to cover the tops of my winter boots but that's the only minor quibble I have.

Schoolboy error Matt ,you know you should have been looking for Winter bargains during the heatwave 😉😂
Do you do the gilet, arm and leg warmers thing?
I just mix thermal leg and arm warmers to a Gabba setup when needed.
If I have to add the gilet on top it probably means it's turned to Winter.

We have clearly had different summers - ours has been amazeballs weather wise....

@thepurist - how long are your legs? I am a lanky legged so-and-so, concerned that they may be short.

I'm a Madison fan at the moment - got one of their winter windproof jerseys for a bargain.

@matt - I'm about 30" waist 32" inside leg, and mine are M.

@jimdubleyou - I got their RoadRace Apex jacket last year when they were cheap and it's a fantastic bit of kit but one I keep for the coldest days, certainly not a 'cool weather jersey'. For that I use an ancient dhb one with windproof front, I even replaced the zip when it broke as I like the jersey so much.

@thepurist - it was one of these:

They still appear bargainous - might get another one 🙂
