After suffering on some long road rides recently, I'm thinking of changing saddles. These adamos seem to get good online reviews, but it would be good to hear some first hand experiences. cheers

I use one for time trialling but I wouldn't want to use one for ordinary riding. They feel very wide and cumbersome when you sit upright - great when you 'roll' forward in an aero position, the prongs support your sitbones rather than squishing your barse like a regular saddle does, but I think I'd struggle with that style on an ordinary road bike.

yes, I have them on all the bikes. Both MTB's have the Peak, I have a Breakway on road bike and Prologue on cx and track bikes.

They look a bit weird and the setup videos and instructions are critical, but easy to follow.

I changed to them following a prostatectomy and find them great, wish I'd moved to them years ago. some places do free demo's of them (Pedal Pedal online)

@ gatsby, is that the tt model? They do lots including road specific ones which seem to be different widths and lengths. Cheers iainc. I'll check out a demo if I can. It was the prologue I was looking at.

I use the Attack on both road and mtb. I did get some sadle sores , but they've stopped since I stated to sit in the position the bike fitter put me in. I had been moving onto the nose too much. Wouldn't change now.

pete68 - The Prologue is a bit softer and heavier than the Breakaway, but identical geometry. I can't tell much between them. I did 75 miles on the road bike with the Breakaway on Sunday and no discomfort whatsoever.

What gatsby said. I use the TT one for TT. I was going to swap it for something else as I was getting pretty sore chaffing due to the width but I've squeezed and zip tied the rails to bring the prongs closer together, seems to have done the job for now.

I'd still not want to ride it any great distance. It's good now when "on the rivet" but when sat back a bit (e.g. between hard intervals) it's not at all comfortable for me.

^^^^^ sounds like you may have it set up wrong !

A load of online stuff including on the ISM site about folks ziptieing the nose to compensate for bad setup..... Not saying this is the case for you though ๐Ÿ™‚

Have a peak on the HT, a roadie version on the road bike and a new 2.0 on the FS (which was first used all day in Wales two weeks ago with no issues), due to on going epidyimitius issues and a tense prostate I've found them a god send.

Well I did read quite a bit about it and tried a lot of different positions, but it was just a bit too wide for me and caused chaffing down the sides of the saddle after more than about an hour's riding. Narrowing the saddle a bit does seem to have helped.

^^^ I found my Breakaway a bit wide on road bike until I slid it back another cm. Seemed to work, but we're all different.

Well managed to find something that works for me after a fair bit of faffing so happy for now, not that bothered if it's not the recommended way of using the saddle ๐Ÿ™‚

Mr Blobby, I will try that as I find the same thing with the TT saddle. Comfy otherwise, even on a 50.
My wife has a Prologue on the road bike and loves it. I tried a Podium and hated it. Too wide and not curved in the right places for me.

Cheers for the replies. Think I'll try either the prologue or the breakaway. They look a bit narrower than the tt model.
