As I can see the Island from my bedroom window here, I'm planning an off road loop of about 4-5 hrs from Ryde (catch the Pmth ferry) now I've Roadied the Island many times in the past but, get this, never taken my 29erSS, so I'd like too whilst I've some time off.
I'm looking for a route that could take in Bembridge, Ventnor maybe over to St Cats then over the lumps in the middle and possibly take in Cowes then Osbourne and back.
I know there are routes planned around the Island but most I've seen are road based, is It possible to offload for say 4/5ths of that loop I've mentioned?
Off to source OS maps...
Would appreciate some local knowledge.

Lots of nice mtbing around the east of the Island - the usual routes start from Yarmouth and go up arund Brighstone forest (where some nice souls have made some lovely singletrack trails...). If you search on-line there are lots of routes there ๐Ÿ™‚

I've nicked that pdf to do the route in the summer!
