Hi,

Just overhauling my son's cnoc 16. The front bearings are pretty rough so I am going to replace them.

does anyone know what size bearings the front wheel takes?

Thankd

I'm fairly sure the bearings are a standard hub bearing size (9 of 1/4" balls each side IIRC, though best to check Sheldon). The problem you'll have though is that you'll probably find the cones are worn (as is the case with the one I got s/h from my sister) and they are a non-standard item, including a bearing shield (not a seal, hence why the bearings are worn).

...I checked and it seems I was remembering rear hub bearings: http://sheldonbrown.com/gloss_ba-n.html#bearingball

No - I just adjusted as best I could. It maybe they're not actually that difficult to get, but I never bothered.

Braved it and took it apart based on having some 3/16 and 1/4s in the draw. And as advised above they are both standard. no damage to the comes and now running like new!

Thanks for the help
