Has anyone got any experience or advice about frog bikes? Been Isla bikes for my kids so far but just wondering about this (relatively new?) brand.

Thanks.

My 4 year old has the Frog 16" wheel. She loves it, rides it everyday and so far no issues. Resale prices look good.

My son had Islabikes up until he was 8, we bought him a Frog at Christmas and it's great. Not much difference between them tbh, except the price. Anybody know how the Beinn20 small compares to the FRog 52 size wise? Looking at pictures, they both say 10" frame, but the Frog's chainstays look longer.

Thanks. Sounds like it could be a good (cheaper) option then.

My lad has a Frog Tadpole (scooter bike) and it's ace, he's getting the 43cm one for Crimbo

Also check out the Pinnacle ones from Evans. Just got a 20" very similar to the Islabike but 20% cheaper.

Interesting reading. My boy has about grown out of his Ridgeback MX16, so i'm on the lookout for a replacement.

To be fair, his Ridgeback has been great, so I would go for the next one up in the Ridgeback line. However, the MX20 comes with a crap 'suspension' fork, which i know will be useless.

Going to look at a Frog tomorrow, so we'll see how we get on!

My daughter has an Isla bike, it's ace BUT...I went to the Cycleshow yesterday and clapped eyes on the Early Rider stand...just te best looking kids bikes ever, won awards an all sorts.

The Belter is te biggest they do so only 16" but wow what a great bike...5.6kg with a belt drive so no oil or mess!

Pinnacle definitely looks the part. It's a proper bike - it even has downtube crudcatcher bosses!

Duffer - You will be amazed at how light the Frogs are.

My 3yr old has an MX12 & tried a 16" Frog today & it was noticeably lighter!

Holding off til Spring til he can manage a 20" though.

New bike day!

We got one for the boy, and another for the girl! They're great little things. I was prepared to get the the Islas, but i'm not convinced they would be £75 each better than the Frogs.

Also glad we got a test ride, as i was set on buying the '52' for the boy; he's actually big enough for the '55'.

Anybody know how the Beinn20 small compares to the FRog 52 size wise?

My lad was far too small for the Frog 52 (20" wheels) but judging by the comments on here, and comparing to the size guides, the Beinn 20 small would fit him fine.
The Beinn seems to have the same leg measurement as the 16" wheeled frog..

When I looked, it seemed that for a given wheelsize, the Islabikes had a lower standover/shorter leg length required.

My little girl(2) has a Tadpole and absolutely loves it. She's flying about on it whenever she gets the chance. The great thing about Frog is the choice of colours. They definitely seem robust as they can take my weight, however I found as with any other little wheeled bike is getting a pump in between the spokes! Even her jersey matches the bike!

Mine have had Islabikes - grown out of them now. Mate's kids have Frog bikes. Little to tell between them as far as I could tell, and as someone said above, the Frog bike is cheaper (and sold in local shops).

After three Islabikes, we nearly went for a Frog. Decided on a Isla Beinn 26 in the end, the gear range, a bit lighter and the freehub instead of a freewheel swung it.

Was looking at this the other day
Daughter is just on the recommended size (42cm inside leg) for a 16" Isla but in Frog she would still be on 14" wheels
That and fact there is only £15 difference in price (Isla £199, Frog 42/48 £185) and I suspect Isla will hold resale value better means I'll probably go Islabikes route
Shame as daughter preferred the colours of the Frog, and I liked that they came with mudguards

The Earlyrider belt drive bike looks awesome, but even more pricey
