[#3155839]

I've been given a pair of Bombers with post mount brake mounts.

However, my current front brake is a set of Shimano BR555 {which I like and work great].

As a cheap get out rather than a new front brake.

Basically would this work?

IIRC if you wish to mount an IS caliper to a post mount fork, you have to go up 20mm on the disc.

Well you do for Hopes so I assume it's the same for Shimano.

Are you sure your brakes aren't post-mount? Been a very long time since Shimano made IS mount brakes and a wee google for br555 suggests that they are, in fact, post mount.

In this case, you can just remove any adapters and bolt them straight on to the fork, or use a post-to-post adapter to step them out if you use larger rotors.
