Another thing he was told buy a guy who is one if not the best wheel builder about in Scotland was stay clear of 29ers
To much flex on the wheels he wouldn't even build him a pair

Ah jeez completely missed Vitus bikes! Another one to add to the list!!!

Heard back from Specialized and they have no 2016 Enduro Comp 29ers left, must be the murdered out look that helped it along! Can't spend £3k on the new Enduro Elite anyway, even if I was offered a discount.

Leaning towards the Capra at the moment, Whyte and Giant are superb buys, but I'm going to be happier with something more gnarly for Europe and beyond.

Any objections towards the YT Capra AL 2016?

Sounds like BS to me, flex is all relative. The DT Swiss splines on my canyon are plenty stiff enough for me, as are the stans arch ex 29ers I built. I am the greatest wheel uglier in my house though 😉 I did bend some cheapo factory wheels landing on a tree stump though.

Is this perchance the same wheel builder who won't build with black spokes?

I have one of these in a large (they don't make an XL)

Brand new, smack on budget (near £3K from a shop). 5mm shorter reach than a XL Enduro. For a big bloke looking for an enduro-ey bike, it's absolutely perfect, it's expensive brother just made the dirt 100, so well regarded bikes.

I can vouch for the capabilities of the Trance 1.
If you're a larger gentleman, be aware there is a weight limit on those carbon wheels. I changed mine at the shop for Hope Enduros for more money off. I may or may not hover around said rider Weight limit

Thanks for all your replies. You've been awesome. I have made my decision and I've ordered the YT Capra AL 2016. Absolutely stoked. Will post a picture when it arrives (hopefully early next week).

Thanks again!

Aren't they a May delivery date?

Edit...that's not being @rsey for the sake of it.
My riding buddy has an xl Capra and we often chat about the current lead times of these.

My order completed (shipped) today, I clicked buy on Monday and it took 24 hours for the money to transfer to them. This is the YT Capra AL not the AL 1 or AL 2, otherwise yes, I'd be waiting until July for an XL...

Valves and logos not lined up, send it back as not fit for purpose.
Looks nice and fast.

Haha! I'm fussy but not that fussy. Yes and yes, it's fast, very fast. Surprised me on the climbs too, quite staggering how an enduro can chew up the ascents so well!

Nice looking bike! All of a sudden I fancy a new bike, something different from my Lappy Zesty. This Capra seems amazing. And looks good too.
