[Closed] Is it worth playing with Rockshox oil weights on Motion control ?

Got some new Domain 302 Coil, I have a firmer spring coming from TF but Im thinking about putting heavier oil in to help the quite basic Motion control damping system.

It has- 200ml of 5wt in RH side top, 10cc of 15wt in RH bottom, 15cc of 15 in LH side.

From this I'm thinking heavier oil in RH side top.

Anyone?

Yeah it can make a nice differnce, try some 10wt in the moco damper. I've done it on a few forks and it does make them slightly more progressive but still react well to all the small stuff.

Funny that, TFT say 'No'

Why not? The only risk I can think of is a marginally higher risk of popping a seal.

The ports are too large, it won't make a noticeable difference. There is much more adjustment available through adding compression damping or rebound.

unless of course you're running your rebound fully on (slow) and find you need even more...
same for compression. but you can't change high speed compression damping on the moco

I found using 7.5W (instead of 5W) in my Rebas made a big difference and stopped them blowing through the travel so quickly. I already use the pushloc as a real lockout for fireroad work.

Mind you can adjust the oil height a wee bit as well (+/- 5cc), according to the manual.

Doing the oil change is so easy that you might as well give it a go. No need to take the lowers off.

I changed mine to 7.5 wt in my reba's and them changed them back. I found the compression slowed up too much, and I'm no lightweight.
