Seen a bike I fancy at a pretty low price.
Advert is sparse in explanation but lots of bike details, not particularly dodgy looking.
When asked where he is and if he has the receipt, the seller responds by saying "I received it like a gift" and asking where I am.
He's called Antonio so probably not got English as first language, but still my antenna are twitching.
What do you lot reckon?
in answer to the orignal question, lets see, it's owned by ebay. hmmm.
I'd steer clear just because I think there's too much risk of supporting thieves. If its a decent bike most legit owners are aware of and have access to community forums like this, and that's where I would expect them to post, and where I would look.
Been shopping for a secondhand Brompton - way, way too many dodgy ones on Gumtree. And a lot of "gifts" too.
Quite blatently dodgy
Did the seller put their phone number in the ad? If so do a search on gumtree for his phone number and see what else he is selling. If He's selling more than one bike then chances are they're stolen.
No phone number. Think I'll folow gut instinct and leave it.
i wouldnt touch anything off that place
all ive had is grief and attempted scams
avoid it
Is Gumtree just full of fences and scammers?
Oh yes! Steer well clear
