Thinkling of taking a newbie to do the Monkey Trail tomorrow. Is it going to be an icy hell or has it had no snow?

Rode FTD and some cheeky stuff - lots of grip - but very cold (was out from 08:00 - was minus 9 at 09:30 according to several car thermometers..)

Get out there!

...........most of the stuff in the trees is as dry as a summer's day. Anything exposed has a very light covering - but hardly noticeable...

Was there later in the day - someone who's rode it twice reckoned the trails were getting more slippy as the day went on. Was mostly fine though - much better than when its wet, with the exception of the odd patch. Watch the turn in the very first singletrack section - this was far and away the worst bit on the entire trail!

If it's your first time, I'd do both trails - FTD is much better than it used to be.
