Need to rebuild a 700c wheel with a disc hub, just wondering if getting a 29'er wheel would be easier?

There are very few 29er specific rims I'd want to put a road "racing" tyre on (i.e. 25mm or narrower). Fine 32mm and above, iffy @ 28mm.

I'm running 32-37mm tyres - would that be ok if I can can a normal-ish 29'er front wheel?
