Looking at a pair of their Epic shorts on line - the size chart suggests that my 35" waist will fit in their mediums, but I've not been in medium sized shorts for years!
Are they really that generous?

Apart from the tester in the magazine, does [i]anyone[/i] own a pair?

Yep would imagine that to be right - had two pairs of various shorts from them and they do tend to come up large, and have a lot of adjustment available.
