Traveling there for a some walking next week.
Is it worth taking the bike ?
I'm sure there's some great routes around up there given the landscape, but I will have very little time to spare - I'm thinking 'is there anything I can (preferably) ride to / around / back within a couple of hours ?' that would be worth taking the bike and all the other necessary kit all that way ?

If so...where's best to try ?

Depends what sort of riding you are after. I did a ride a few years back taking in a long-abandoned and usually submerged road bridge. Great if you just want to take in the scenery, but not gnarly in any sense of the word.

I'd highly recommend the descent from the Cam Bealach between Meall na Teanga and Sron a Choire Ghairbh.

Getting TO it is a different matter, however. The OS map shows a path from the track through Glengarry Forest but it's very indistinct once you get out of the trees and you'd be doing a lot of pushing/carrying/cursing.

Great descent though...

i did a 28k route from invergarry a few years back, i think it was from kenny wilsons book. fairly simple route which was quite good, but nothing spectacular. the singletrack coming along the north side of the river garry from west to east was a good blast. theres forest paths and fireroads in the forest over the bridge from the car park near the white bridge, with a few nice bits in it. get a map and go ride.
