What do you think would be the max travel fork I could put on a 5.5? I have 120-140's... could I get away with 150's?

You could get away with 150's. Be a dog to climb with tho.
I like 140s but would love adjustable travel for the climbs.

tbh it climbs well in 140, just seeing if I could go to 150mm 20mm bolt through forks, possible 36's and still have the option to adjust the travel

How do you find the sizing? I'd normally go for a large frame and the 24" top tube on the large 5.5 looks perfect, but the 21" seat tube seems ridiculously tall.....

spot on, I have a medium but run a 50mm stem... its a good stand over I am almost 6ft, it makes it a short bike but then I have come from DH bikes so didnt wat to go too far into the XC set up.
