I live in a house, that I own. I have a shed on some other land, that isn't mine but does belong to the family (In laws). The bikes are kept currently in the house till I sort out insurance options for the shed. House insurance option with shed cover doesn't work since the shed is not on "my land" any options other than tripping over bikes in the house? Start a policy under the in laws??

Specialist bike insurance? Doubt the in laws will be able to insure them as they don't own the bikes and therefore have no 'insurable interest'

You not insured for things away from the home? My direct line policy covers my bikes anywhere as long as they're locked up.

What they said, but things permanently away from the "home" are a different matter to cover than things temporarily away from the home, which is what most policies allow for.

Don't get me started, but any half witted underwriter should be able to write and price you a policy amendment to cover your circumstances. Cheap online "computer says no" underwriting has rather removed that option.

Try Pedalcover, they're real people you can chat to! I had a number of conversations to discuss options around my home+bikes insurance.
