[Closed] Insuring a bike you've hired / doesn't belong to you?

I'm booked onto a cycling trip with Sports Tours International which includes the hire of a road bike for the 10 day duration and recently received an email from them saying:

"We recommend that you look into a short term insurance policy to cover you should anything happen to the bike whilst in your possession (theft, loss, damage, public liability etc). Unfortunately we are unable to offer insurance, following local financial regulations".

I've tried a few insurance companies but so far no one has a policy that covers a bike that's not my personal property.

Anyone had any luck with insuring a hired bike?

Surely the price of the hire should include some sort of short term insurance?

Otherwise, would normal holiday insurance cover this?
