because riding DH and BMX are not very similar to riding a road bike.

And XC is? You've completely missed the point, so I'm going to give up. You might understand one day.

they don't read like compromises, more like necessities.

I don't think you understand what a compromise is either.. 🙂

Not a particularly amazing picture, think it was taken on Christmas day last year on a training ride, I quite like it.

[EDIT - all my pics are of local, doorstep riding, not far-flung exotica]

Sorry about that (I don't take many pictures over here)..

I like both, but doing this on saturday morning was the most fun I've had on a bike in a long while and i suppose it's closer to road than mountain biking.

Oh go on then, shameless poser that I am..

Ooh, where's that RM?

Somewhere slightly south of Grenoble, we did 100 miles, most of which was freezing. Stopped in a cafe to try and regain feeling in several body parts, and when we finally exited, we came around a big rock and was on that road. Cold, but awesome.

EDIT: Can't find it on google maps for some reason, but it's called Combe Laval

Apart from being filthy and soaked, what's wrong with them? We did have awful weather, if I'd known it was gonna be that bad I would've been wearing overshoes, or at least brought gloves..

Rule #28 all over the place. Although black would've been warmer. White goes with the hat though 😉

IGRF
Not sure if you were suggesting my image was "googlesourced" (good new word that), forgot to add taken on my phone on 14th July.

Anyway, each to their own but I prefer my picture.

Bugger, first time uploading a picture. It seemed too easy to be true.
