a good use of the last run before the drivers lunch break

Yeah fine when there's no more uplifts on offer for a while but to suggest laps of AS and GW is leaving you with a pedal along and up a fireroad however you look at it.

That and the fact neither of them are particularly good enough trails to want to ride multiple times when there's so much more on offer that doesn't require any pedaling to speak of.

GW and AS followed by the red/rooty bank are a great way to get used to riding the off piste in the valley without the worry of getting lost in the warren of trails on the DH side and ending up on something difficult. They're usually not all that busy either and the traversing fire road climb is very easy.ย

You missed a bit in your quote there.

Like about 90% of what I actually said.

Going to try and find angry sheep this run. I did 1/2 Cresta and some Matador then back to Cresta. I need big boy pants and don't have themย

Did you find it or your large pants then?

I found the easier trails and stuck to them. I'd like to say if I wasn't riding solo or on my best day I could have ridden more, but in truth I'd need to work up to it. I was steeper and trickier than I'm used to.ย

One thing I've learned in last 5 years is to ride what you like, there's no hero points.ย

Maybe next time or next life, but deffo not yesterday.

It can be an eye opener round here for a first timer.

ย

You'd actually be surprised how quick to get immune to it.

Fear not though there's always something new to get the buzz back.

ย

I know you were out of your depth but you had a brief go and if you come back again you might be less phased by it all.

Though i am surprised that with all the places you've been with your lad that you though theย  trails you tried were that difficult apart from the bigger jumps.

Yeah maybe. But in truth, it's likely to be a fair while. My own riding isn't really my priority in terms of location and it was only circumstance that brought me here as the boy was looking at the college.ย

Next year we're unlikely to do the same race. However that doesn't mean we've not enjoyed the place as it's been lovely here.ย

It's a beautiful place at this time of year when the sun's out that's for sure.
