Just got back from a weekend at Afan, and thought I'd chip-in with a nod towards the local pub, which many may not even have spotted, and still many others may have decided to leave alone for whatever reason. If you like a p!ss up of Friday or Saturday night, and you like your pubs "proper" and distinctly scruffy around the edges you could do a lot worse - added to that you won't be able to do any better, because there is no other boozer within walking distance of the centre.
Anyhow - it's the great big four storey building on the end of the village stuck up on top of the hill. You just walk up the road and turn right into the car park and up the back stairs. Be warned - it is a touch intimidating at first, but just get in there and they'll soon warm to you. Probably. Guinness was £2.40. £2.40!
