I know forums are great places for the disgruntled and hard done by, but as its the weekend I just wanted to publicly say thank you to Crank Brothers.
I bought a set of Eggbeater SLs late last year - and very pretty they are. However, like so many people report after a few months of not too hairy use on my cross bike, the springs started to weaken. That once soft closure became a floppy scary nothingness and then one day while climbing my foot came out on the upstroke and I lost it.
I took the pedals off and went back to some SPDs but thought I would send the pedals back to Crank Brothers assuming they would quote me a big bill or never reply. Well, bugger me if just a few days later (bear in mind I live in Vancouver BC and had to send them to California) they arrived on my doorstep, both springs replaced - no charge.
I have never experienced customer service like it and thought I should share it. Eggbeaters might be a little fragile but buy with confidence!
