Got a Watch from an online store, based in Singapore, last month. Today I received a bill from the couriers (Fed Ex) for an import tax payment. Just curious on how the system works; was I just unlucky in getting "caught" or should everyone that's bought an item from Far East expect an Import Tax bill (thinking about all the DX lights we're buying)?

If its coming from outside the EU expect to be taxed.
Import tax and then VAT on the whole lot of Purchase price + Shipping + the import tax.
