I'm supposed to be in training for a coast to coast ride(the Woodcock one,via Keswick) in June, and I've got a stinking head cold, snot everywhere, shivering and shaking, and not well enough to ride.Bum.

I've tried paracetamol, pseudoephedrine, and 2 pints of 8.6% MTFU,and I'm still whining, but thanks for the sympathy,it's nice to know you can rely on STW.

If you've already put in some miles you'll be fine, it will only put you out of action for a couple of weeks

A bottle of red wine will kill those nasty bugs. Works for me.

I was pretty unfit when I started training, and am now up to 30 miles in a day with full kit,at about 8-9 mph off road, would like to get up to 50 miles a day,so it doesn't take forever,so don't like to lose a week.

Vicks First Defence is your friend. Use it at the first hint of a cold and it usually stops it dead.

It's a cold, give a couple of days and you'll be back on the bike.
