Hi I've got an opportunity to buy the fox coil dhx2 2021 model shock for about 450£ or the ext v3 for 650 both in very good condition probably the ext is in almost mint condition. Is it worth the extra £200? Heard the 2021 fox was a nice upgrade from the previous year. Any thoughts or helpful advice
Are the shocks coming off the same bike you are putting them on?
Above is important question. DHX you can tune for anything, EXT will be tuned for the the bike and person
I'm on a 2021 DHX2 and it's noticeably better than the original DHX2. Not night and day but defo noticeable. Loving the progressive spring I put on tere as well
Make sure the EXT is from a reputable seller. Mine was brand new and unridden when my G16 was swiped.
The fox is off an santa cruz bronson and the ext is ex demo from a dealer
And what are you fitting it to?
Has the dealer said they’ll tune it to your frame/weight?
Either way, the one that's freshly serviced & tuned to your bike/you is going to outperform any shock that isn't.
Personally, having run the Storia (V2 & V3), and now on a '22 DHX2, I am boldly saying the new DHX2 is the best shock I have ever used. I now run one on both my bikes.
@tomhoward
Yeah they will valve it to me and my bike.

That's a tough call. Between them then
O my bike is a Trail bike bird aether 9a.
wouldn't bother with the DHX2 - the EXT is only as good as the person that tunes it for you.
