Just an idle thought to pass the time whilst poorly 🙂

I think
day 1 - Macc forest 3 shirres head maybe and hayfield area in the arvo
day 2 - Hope triple 8 with variations
day 3 - Cutgate and add ons
day 4 - Something white peak based maybe centering on Chatsworth?

Or ride north to south starting at langsett?

Something in Ambergate. Maybe the quarries drop to Eyam/Stoney Middleton

Pook - the quarries into stoney are a bit tame aren't they?

yes, but if you ride them fast enough they're cracking. I'm thinking one particular path - couldn't comment on the others.

The 5 dales ride out of the 'V' graphics White Peak book is really good when the weather's fine, for your day 4.

Waves to Pook.
Peep O'Day is part of Hayfield loop.
No, 'Far phoside' is the good one down to the barn. They both end up on the same road though.

Good list, I'd make #1 Hayfield but 2-4 would be nice, can you make it 5days and head to Wharncliffe for a bit of a difference at the end ?

thank god for that.. I wouldn't want to look at your miserable face.

I'd do
1.Hayfield/Edale loop
2.Hope Valley/Ladybower
3.Bakewell/Chatsworth area
4.Linacre Reservoir area

Three Gates epic.
Cut Gate (N > S), Chapel Gate, Doctors Gate. Ideally start from the bottom of one of the Gates so somewhere like Edale (finish on Chapel Gate), Fairholmes (finish on Cut Gate) or Glossop (finish on Drs Gate).
Long route, about 100km, easily an all dayer.

racing ralph: yes it is, you're right but in good weather conditions I reckon it's one of those trails that you should do once just to say you've done it!

In the drought of April/May last year where even the boggiest bits of the Peak became rideable, it was actually really nice. After rain though the bottom bit becomes a horrible swamp and the top part is always stupidly tech.

Plenty of nice routes there but it all depends when you;re going, Cut gate will be terrible at the moment, Linacre reservoir not much better, and frankly Dale 2 of the 5 dales ride is always sketchy unless it's been bone dry for months 🙂

I'd do
1.Hayfield/Edale loop
2.Hope Valley/Ladybower

I'm planning a long weekend in the area this year. It used to be my stomping ground many moons ago, does anybody have a route they could send me for these, pretty please? 😀

😆 😆

ralph - what macc route do you do?

id defo include stanage in a top 4 easily, if not top 1! tag the end of it or start over WLT way and go that way over for a longer one! may well just do that in the summer!

1. Hayfield area (including new allotments, middle moor, lantern pike)
2. Ambergate and surrounding area cheeky
3. Castleton / Hope / Ladybower circuit (taking in Mamtor bobsleigh descent, Beast, cheeky descent off Whinstone)
4. Matlock / Two Dales / Rowsley (including Copy woods, Northwood, Carlton Lees, Stanton Moor cheek)

A good mix of rocky days trails and some lovely woodland singletrack.
