....will i have any problems sourcing a bottom bracket for it? are they normal square taper or their own design?

any pointers to a decent priced bb for a 68mm shell? its a campag mirage if that makes any difference?

thanks

You can still get square taper Campag bottom brackets from here:

http://www.parker-international.co.uk/c/35/Bottom-Brackets.html

Ribble cycles also sell them.

The Veloce one would be a good budget option, the Centaur if you want to spend a little more. The more expensive ones are probably super-light but not any more durable. I've done over 10,000km on a Veloce one.
You want 111mm length for double chainset and 115.5mm for triple. Campag use a European taper (ISO), whereas Shimano (for example) use a Japanese (JIS) taper. You can interchange them but the chainset will sit on the taper differently and affect the distance from the bottom bracket to the cranks (the Q factor).

Sadexpunk - if you are looking for a campag square taper in Lincoln then have a word with Barrons cycles in Stow. They have sorted me out with a few in the past.

Read the bit about 4.5mm here for an alternative.

I have used Campag sq taper chainsets on Shimano sq taper b/b before apparently it should not work but it did for me

You'll need one of these for veloce bb removal:

I've got a VAR tool which I bought in Decathlon, but I can't find any info on.

EDIT: Which I've just found.

You should be able to find a Tiagra compact and bb for about £70. Facing isn't necessary IMO.
