Cool, I wonder what they are like with bulk orders? There's a fair chunk (20+)of the group I ride with who now want lights. Would it be better to bulk order or order individually? Discount v import duty???

There's really not much bulk discount do that quantity so I'd prob go individual to avoid the poss of import/Vat. Bit difficult to claim a massive box is a $10 value!!

I think the trick with dealextreme is to be sure the item is in stock as there can be funny stock level reports. The battery showed in stock then after the order was placed it was something like awaiting for stock from supplier????. I was prepared for a bit of a wait but then I got the email to say it had been shipped.

I think most Dealextreme torch stuff is drop-shipped. i.e. when they say "in stock" they mean in stock at their suppliers. It usually takes a few days before they ship, then about a week after that for it to arrive.

I had a similar leadtime to you for some torches/batteries/charger. Arrived Saturday.

On another note - has anyone received the new battery pack yet? My friend has just got one (on my recommendation) and he's wondering how weatherproof it is.

He says "It's a metal body with plastic ends and I can't imagine how water won't get into the joints?"

Any thoughts? Does it have seals inside?

mine came as the original in the velcro bag...do you have the item number for the new model????
As mine died through water ingress I am buying some self-amalgamating tape and wrapping it up.

old inner tubes are good for wrapping batteries. cut it long so it overlaps the end, twist & pull back over itself. doubt it's waterPROOF, but seems pretty resistant

That's how every purchase from DX works - it all gets explained on their website. You order from DX, DX order from supplier, DX pack and ship to wherever in the world. One of the reasons stuff is even cheaper from them - they don't need a honkin huge warehouse, just a relatively small goods in/out/packaging area. Prob someone apartment!
