How come so many 29er forks are 9mm QR?

I'd have thought that with them having longer lowers that they're be more susceptible to flex?

Or am I missing something?!?

Probably missing the fact that most 29er forks are 15mm

Having 9mm qr allows the wheel to conform the the terrain. This makes the trail come alive. With 15-20mm this deadens resonations felt through the handlebars
