...please

Found it on the garage floor.ย  Total lenth of the black bit is 3-4cm, "liner" inside a little longer and is anchored 1cm or so inside the wider end; There's also a "step" in there that would, say, hold a cable outer.ย  It looks a lot like it's for taking a cable (prob gear, from the diameter of the liner) but what's it for/from ?

Espresso machine brewing head possibly maybe.
(According to Google lens)

That's why your Espresso machine is not producing good coffee just now.
Or a brake thingy.

it's the outer cable stop and cable guide that's become disassociated from a fork mounted cable hanger

Part of a front brake cable guide for cantilever brakes, fits into a slot in a spacer fitted under the stem.

Could be front or rear, I've seen pinch-bolt hangers like that on CX bikes.

A cable guide for drop bar brifters as cable goes into the hoods?

hmmmm.ย  Thanks all

Haven't had cantis on a bike for so long I struggle to believe that I can have just turned that up today (goes for fork-monts too, I suspect)

It does look like a cable guide but I don't recall ever seeing anything like it on my drop-bar brifters

Espresso machine - I did once try to dismantle and fix a nespresson pod machine that we had at work.ย  It did still make (shit) coffee afterwards so kinda doubt it's from that either

Anyone else care to dabble? - there may be a massive star prize

Do you fish? Looks a little like a hook aligner, even maybe a hookah pipe head.

Piece of a deformed torsion ring with a piece of rubber pipe shoved in it.

Ah wondered where it got to, must be a wormhole from my maintenance area to yours...

RD outer housing guide with cable grunge protector liner.

If you happen find my shimano lever bleed screw and the o-ring from the bleed port of my Formula caliper

please chuck them back into the wormhole, I'll keep an eye out.ย  ๐Ÿ™‚

thanks
