I have a question about this product that is probably stupid, but I have already ordered one. That could make me doubly stupid.
The detail says it is a 400mm post, but does the post effectively lengthen when the seat is dropped? In other words, does the internal part of the post protrude below the bottom of the external tube when the saddle is down?
I think the answer must be "no", but I am not 100% sure.
The seat tube on my bike has bottle bosses and I also put one of those security tag things in there as well. I currently use a 400mm normal post, so I know I will be ok so long as the act of dropping the saddle does not push more post out of the bottom.
If it does, I am going to be a bit annoyed at myself!
It's telescopic. There is nothing poking out the bottom when lowered (in fact the spring is held in place with a big nut screwed into the bottom of the post)
Thanks for the answer, and tactfully not acknowledging that it was, in fact, a stupid question I asked!
The post itself is being delivered tomorrow, but will be at work. Will have to retrieve from whatever depot on Wednesday. Then a bit of fitting and faffing and we are ready to go.
