First commute on a set of Schwalbe Marathon Winters this morning and I really am impressed! Not as much ice around as expected but enough to prove that they really do offer a lot of grip on ice (OK, I know they should, but they really were impressive!)

They did leave me pondering on a long, steep uphill stretch though. If I rolled onto the ice they got much quieter but I am sure they actually started to roll much more easily as well, so I found myself climbing on ice when I had a choice of ice or tarmac... I wasn't expecting that at all...
Is my mind playing tricks or is it really easier thanks to lower rolling resistance, 'cos it's ice?

And the hungry thing? Sounded like I was riding on cornflakes the whole time I was on tarmac, after 40 minutes of listening to cornflakes, I really wanted a bowl!
