Thinking of buying an Ibis Mojo SL. Any good? Don't tell me its the best thing since sex or utter rubbish - just good constructive stuff. Mud / wet weather riding isn't an issue as I'm in Australia. Anyone has both a Mojo and an Orange 5 as thats what I'm riding now. Thanks

Hi--been riding a Mojo for the past 3 years and love it.
I live in New Mexico, USA, so riding conditions might be similar to what you have---don't know where you are in Australia, but I have been to Perth, Brisban and Sidney.
Great bike--nimble, light and I haven't had a single problem so far.
I added the Lopes Link and changed my linkage to the SL version (probably saved at least a whole ounce of weight).
Just a very capable bike (in my case, more capable than the rider)
I have XTR, Fox Talas and with the RP23 shock, was able to dial it in easily.

Hi busydog
Whats it like on tight switchbacks? My Orange is great on contour following flowy tracks where you're hanging off the back but much of the stuff here is South Australia is tight switchbacks. The Orange is really hard work on the tight turns.

I think you would like it on the switchbacks. Very nimble and easy to manuever--very responsive. It climbs well too--combination of light weight and a good suspension design.
I had an Intense UZZI SL before and it was great on downhills--just sort of point it downhill, get back off the seat and hang on---but not really good in the tight, twisting trails--way too much work---sort of like driving a bus around a sports car track.
I'm not an expert by any means--have had 2 Specialized, an Outland VPR, the Uzzi and now the Mojo and wouldn't trade back for any of the others.

I've ridden a mojo since they first came out.

When I ride past people, men want to be me, women want to be with me.

That is all.

Im a Mojo owner having broken the frame on a Marin Attack Trail and had a good offer of a used Mojo frame. Ms Rickmeister (Orangina on here), has a "5"

Like it a lot.. its very playful (if you can describe a bike as such). I'm not the lightest rider and its coping well. The DW suspension is very effective when climbing and also supple when descending.

For the corners, 720mm Renthal Fatbar and 90mm Hope stem are absolutely fine. The frame wheelbase is almost identical to a 16" Five though the Mojo is a medium. Seat tube is the right size for a Reverb dropper post too.

HTH

Good fun. Sold my Mojo to rick up there to help fund a honeymoon.

Just this last week got a Mojo HD140 to replace it.

It's a bike for riding and seeing the hills. It blends in and you don't think about it.

Pretty chuffed with mine, had it since March, took a good couple of rides to get shock psi set up to feel right. I found it quite easy if set up wrong to make it feel either 'stuttery' or abit 'soggy' at the rear, there's definately a 5psi range where it feels just right.

It's certainly a fun bike to ride, I've got Lyrik Coil 160mm forks on the front of mine so it's fun on the downs and still light enough (mine's about 28 lbs with XTR, XO, Roval Traversee, Thomson, Easton EC70 etc) for the climbs to not be an issue.

I really like it and enjoy riding it but wasn't blown away in a complete 'OMG' kind of way. My 2011 SC Blur XC Carbon on the other hand... that's more of a 'wow factor' bike to ride imo.

I've ridden a mojo since they first came out.

When I ride past people, men want to [strike]be me[/strike] steal my bike, women also want to [strike]be with me[/strike] steal my bike.

FTFY.

Mr Toast had a Mojo, it was one of the most inexpressibly lovely bikes I've ever seen. Sadly they're also rather short, so even the XL was too small for t'hubby, and I'm a hobbit, so it had to go. Q_Q
