[#2906707]

Currently looking to replace my '07 Five with something more up-to-date (tapered headtube, front and rear maxle capable, dropper post compatible) and in the Mojos case carbon.

I'm hoping to arrange a demo sometime this month but wondered what current owners thought of their purchase? What builds you went for? Where from?

I also suppose whether you think the price tag is justifiable/good value too?

Please feel free to post pics (of your HD 140s) to whet the appetite.

Cheers

KoB

Awesome bike and better in 140 than in 160 IMHO. My build is pretty pimp (BOS forks, 1x10 XTR, and carbon Haven wheels and weighs 27.5lbs. Love it!

Thanks heihei. Indeed that is pimp. Seriously pricey build. Although I would expect it to be lighter with it being a full carbon frame with the haven wheelset too.

Having not ridden a dw link bike before I'm wondering what to expect. Actually having not ridden a carbon bike before I'm wondering what to expect.

heihei; that needs a picture surely!

Believe it or not but I've managed to wangle my Cannondale Prophet down to that weight; doesn't look as nice though (I imagine) but then I bet your HD cost a heck more than £2068.

Dont have a HD but have a boggo Mojo. Went from a 05 Attack Trail to this so the game has moved on somewhat!

I am using a Talas 150 fork and it seems to work well. Built it up from the bits from the attack trail (frame cracked all over the place and was binned). Its my first carbon bike and expected rattles and a noisy ride but its actually very very quiet. Finding it very supple. The dw link is pretty effective on a locked out rp23, more supple still when unlocked.

Its a fun ride, seems to respond well to body movements, seems to encourage riding faster and hooligan behaviour. Lking it a lot. Keep an eye on the bike chain shop in edinburgh, they often have really good deals on new frames..

I bought mine from Addiktion Cycles in st. Albans. It has DT EXM 150 forks, Dt Tricon M1550 wheels,Conti Rubber Queen 2.2 tyres, XTR triple groupset with Trail brakes, Pro Tharsis seat post, King headset, Pro Tharsis bars and a thompson stem. (just got a Reverb for it too)
It comes in at 27 pounds
I'm very happy with mine, it replaced a DW link Turner 5 spot.
I can't say it's 100% perfect, you clip the pedals every now and then, but that is a trade off of running a good amount of sag on the rear shock, which gives loads of grip, so I'll take the odd pedal stike.
Would I buy one again I definitely would.
Where about's are you?

Thanks for the feedback folks.

I must admit my Five is also around this weight which I wasn't expecting. Although I'm running tubeless with a light build. Still, in comparison, the HD has more bells and whistles (maxle swingarm, dropper post) and still remains light. It also offers 2x10 setup. I suppose I'm looking for a replacement with an element of future proofing.

I'm Leeds based xanboy. So I'm going to need to source a demo nearby as I'd like to compare it on familiar Peak trails.
