[Closed] I think I'm going to cut down my bars

I lost 2 bar ends at the weekend ๐Ÿ˜† But if I cut them down to a measly 760mm will I still be ENDURO? I'm pretty marginal as it is with my 26 inch wheels... I'm worried I might be excluded.

#nonduro

I think that might downgrade you to All-Mountain - but I'd need to check the formulae.

If you are still using bar ends then you will never be very Endooro ๐Ÿ˜›

8 inch rise and 30 inches wide is where it's at. Old skool.

Bar end plugs ๐Ÿ˜ณ That would have made for some interesting treestrikes.

I remember my old Muddy Fox courier - I had 16 inch wide bars on that.

Them were the days.

Jared Graves is winning on 740s so you should be ok. Probably worth checking with the Enduro authorities though ๐Ÿ˜‰

If your grips are in an approved colorway (or murdered out) then of course you can still be Enduro.

Probably not if you cut them down but if you 'swapped out' for some narrower ones I'd have thought you'd be fine.

The key thing is surely the "colourway" of the bars and if it matches your shoelaces?

I wanted to increase my bars from 695mm to 720mm.

But thought that may take me out of the realms of bimble into the dangerous world of pootle,
So thought better of it.

This question probably needs a ruling by the proper authorities...

Is pootle more hardcore than bimble? I thought it was the other way round! I think there needs to be quite a complex formula as bars in the 600s also qualify you as an XC mincer... which is why mine are 720 or so.

This, but I think if you stay over 720mm you'll be ok.

I wanted to increase my bars from 695mm to 720mm.

If 715mm is enough for you, I can sell you 20mm of bar.

I think you have to wear lycra and ride clipless to qualify as XC mincer, but I could be wrong.

I'm running 760 at the moment and 26 inch wheels maybe that's why I broke my wrist at my last enduro race #notenduro.

What do you think works better, nonduro or unduro?

In the good old days, I once cut my bars down to 470mm. Around 1990 I think.

Pff, I could qualify as an XC mincer wearing a full suit of gothic plate and a mattress.

Check the Gnarpoon spec sheet before you cut them.
