All good choices, your budget sounds quite high?

You missed the more obvious all day bikes like a spesh Enduro, dale prophet etc, and some of you choices are verging on full DH rather than pedalling up stuff at trailcentres..

I built this for £420 all in for all day and Alps stuff.

Quake sounds like a bit much for UK all-day riding.

Lapierre Spicy?

Edit: I'd say all the bike on your list would be great for the Alps, but overkill for the UK trail centres, do you really need to spend 'that much' on a bike you'll use 2 weeks(?) a year

New specialized pitch looks good too, only 140mm travel, so unless you mean to do full on DH in the alps,it should be all you need? (or you could fit longer forks). For UK trail centres 140 is fine, or if not the new Enduro??

Student budgets are a bit different from when I was a student.

I'd suggest that the 2005-2006 enduro needs to be on your list too
