Do you have bike in your shed that you loved? Has it sat there unridden for a long time? Is tehre a bike that you covet?

I have a lovely cotic simple. I used to realy enjoy riding it. It has however been ridden in anger twice in the last year or so because I got a 29er and a penchant for touring in the mountains. I can't keep all the bikes I own and one must go to finance the one that i covet. One has sentimental value and the other wont fetch as much as it's worth. What would you do?
It's late and I'm tired. Thsi will probably keep me awake....

I'd get shot of the one with sentimental value, the memories will always be better than the actual ride and if selling it improves your current or future ride that has to be better. Time is a great healer when selling cherished things.

Sell . . . if you've only ridden it twice in the last year then you won't miss it. Loved my little red Inbred to bits - it was my only bike for a year or so and then got stripped and spent the next few years as a wall ornament, being built and ridden a couple of times a year before being stripped again. It used to bug me so much that I'd have to keep building it back up for old times sake but now I don't regret selling it at all. Bikes should be ridden not looked at.

mamadirt (feeling strangely liberated again now I'm back to one 😆 )

Flog 'em. They are just tubes welded together.

the 29er was given to me by my wife and it is the first bike out of the shed come ride day. it is [s]unlikely[/s]not allowed to be sold. I amcoveting a jones diamond. furthermore, shuold I borrow the geometry and get a custom built or go with importing a jones?
this would be after selling my simple. I want a lighter and shorter 29er really.

If you're after a jones you better sell everything. Dunno if they are any good but I do know they are hellish expensive for "just tubes welded together." 😉

size of simple is large.
You could give me a shout if you decide to sell it.
